Interested in knowing how to make a multi-colour linocut print?
This one day course will teach you how to complete a multi-colour print in a day using the ‘reduction’ linocut method. This is a printing technique which involves cutting and printing each colour layer from the same block of lino in order to build up a full multi-colour image.
During the course, we will plan a very simple linear design and transfer it to Japanese vinyl - a type of lino block. You'll be shown how to cut, ink and print your design at the different colour stages including how to correctly register your prints so that each layer of colour lies directly on top of the previous layer.
We will be working towards creating a two or three colour reduction linocut print.
For this technique and process we will be making the prints by hand - a process which you can take away with you and replicate at home with basic equipment.
Suitable for beginners with basic linocut experience.
All materials and refreshments provided, please bring a packed lunch.
If you are interested in learning this technique but are unable to make this date, please get in touch and we can book in a date which suits you.
